November 17th:THE HANGOVER THE TRUE STORY!!

So a couple weekends ago a group of us girls (co-workers and friend of friends) decide to celebrate BB's birthday. (BB is a friend of Hol and mine from high school). So Hol planned the event she rented a hotel room and the plan was a night at city walk. Well BB did start the party early and was pretty lit when she got to the hotel room. Well Rockin Rob was hungry and wanted some food, so the group agreed on some Fuzzy Tacos. We left the room and left a key for Tonay and Bri-Bri as they were not there yet. We get down stairs and the front desk (who was very nice) said we can take the limo. So out we go the driver opens the door and Arya goes in before me and after mom and Rockin Rob:

ARYA: OH WOW IT SMELLS LIKE STRIPPERS IN HERE. THIS IS AWESOME!!!

So off we go to Fuzzy Taco and wait in a mile long line, eat then head to city walk. We get our own room and then Hol buys me my first shot. After that we go do some Karaoke and I was crazy nervous, so the MC gave me a shot then I got up on stage after TamTam (who did amazing) and sang a Journey song terribly. After that we sat and listened to a few people go but the highlight had to be Rockin Robs face ( now Rockin Rob is a fabulously mature woman of a certain age) when two guys got up and did a pretty good rendition of "Get Low" . (WHO'S SCARED, YOU SCARED)

After about three shots later its a little bit around 11pm and Bri Bri, mom, Rockin Rob, and myself are all ready to bounce. So after chatting with an old friend (HI SHAQ) and a hallway chat with mom and Rockin Rob we are out of there. Now I don't know why but for some reason none of us brought jackets (which is just plain silly seeing as it was 32 degrees outside). So we go walking down to Harkins to see Breaking Dawn Part 2 (Twilight duh!) Well Rob has not been following the Twi Saga so her and mom go inside and the ticket taker is kind enough to let them get some popcorn and then they exit. We sit down and watch the movie. Now I will say I have never sat in a movie with a more lively crowd. Let's just say a lot of screaming and a chorus of "NNOOOOOO not EDWARD!!!!!!" took place. All the while my cell phone is buzzing like every five minutes (YOU DON'T INTERRUPT TWILIGHT PEOPLE IT'S RUDE)

BRI: OMG IS THIS HOW IT HAPPENED IN THE BOOK. I CAN'T REMEMBER? ( HER FACE SHOCKED AND MAD)

ME: (SHOCKED AS WELL) IT'S GOTTA BE A DREAM, IT'S GOTTA BE A DREAM.

Well the movie ends, which all I can say is while they did do some questionable things that were not in the book, all in all it ended as well as could be expected.
So BriBri and I take the ten minute walk back to our hotel all the while chatting about a very mean letter Bri would've sent to the Movie/Production Company and if everyone made it to the hotel before us seeing as it was two in the morning. (I CAN'T believe I WAS STILL AWAKE) and all the while pretending we were somewhere warm (FLORIDA, HAWAII, ANYWHERE WARM)

So we finally make it back to the hotel room to be greeted with:

HOL: FINALLY WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CALL YOU. TONAY IS MISSING WE LOST HER AT THE CLUB!!!!!

After that a series of events unfold all of which include a call to someone's boyfriend, calling around to the police station, detox, and also the jail trying to find our dear Tonay.
Well we are still trying to find her when some people get thirsty and Arya wants some M&Ms, mom and Rockin Rob volunteer to go.
They go downstairs and come back loot in hands and say:

MOM: YA'LL WILL NEVER BELIEVE IT BUT TONAY IS DOWNSTAIRS, AND SHE IS DRRR-UNK. SHE OWES A CAB DRIVER $30 AND THEN THEY'LL LET HER COME UP.

We were thrilled she was found and okay, well Stacy with a Y went to sleep I think, then a knock sounds from the door along with the bell ringing.
As the door opens all I can see is Tonay and her very drunk face ( looked like a kid brought home by the cops to her mommas front door).

TONAY: (ALL SLURRED) THEY SAYING I OWE HIM MONEY BUT I DON'T OWE HIM ANYTHING.

She stumbles to the room and digs in her purse trying to find the money. Hol is trying to get some out of her purse so I just go to my room and get out $30 to pay the guy so he will leave.

TONAY: (AGAIN VERY SLURRED) THIS BULL CRAP JESS I DON'T OWE HIM ANYTHING HE TOOK ME THE WRONG WAY I KNEW WHERE I WAS AT......

Her breath smelled bad of alcohol, I think I got buzzed again just off her breath.

So we get the cabbie his money (THANK YOU HOL AND T DID PAY YOU BACK)
BriBri is in the corner very upset with Tonay (SHE WAS PISSED MAX!!!)

So after things settle down we ask Tonay what happened...

TONAY: ( DOING THE PP DANCE) I DID NOT OWE HIM MONEY, HE PUSHED ME IN THAT CAB AND I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS STAYING AT THE HOTEL ACROSS FROM THE WARREN.

Now if you don't know the Warren it is in Moore and no wonder she owed the cabbie $30. Of course we all point this out and she laughs.

Well it's about 4 am at this point and Tonay tells us about her "night". What really happened may never truly been known but she was found so thats all that really matters. After all was said and done its kind of funny now.

Her version: Left at the club, pushed into the cab, he stole her money (that may have really happened), taken to Midwest City and the guy who drove the limo was with her for some reason.

Possible real version of events: Crossed hairs at the club (every other person thought they had her), hailed a cab, told him she was staying at the warren, then fell asleep and realized not at Warren at hotel across from Harkins.

Final everything calmed down and we went to sleep. Well except for Stacie with an E and my mother.

Well about 6am I am kicked out of bed by my sister-in-law Arya (GIRL YOU WERE ALL OVER THE PLACE but its okay I love ya anyways)

And then I am welcomed by a chorus of shouting by my sister Hol (love ya too!!) in the next room:

HOL: REALLY MOM, REALLY ITS SIX IN THE MORNING YOU GONNA DO THAT RIGHT IN MY FACE.

MOM: MOM TRYING TO STIFLE HER LAUGHTER

Let's just say better out then in I guess...

So a few hours later we go eat an awesome breakfast, get the room cleaned, get our stuff repacked and wake Tonay up (who apparently went to sleep in her birthday suit cuddled up to Rockin Robin sorry Rocking Rob!!)

So we make it home and I sleep from noon to 7pm (it was a most need nap) and we all survived a wacky Saturday.

Later we told Tonay all her stories and how she almost became the lifetime movie The Hangover: The Real Story.......

.........the HOST with the most.......

So I know it's kinda cray-cray to be this excited about a book turned movie!!! But whatever it's fracking awesome.
So about 4 years ago I read a book by a little known author (yeah right you'd have to living under the dirt under a rock under like six layers of concrete not to know her) Stephenie Meyer (in case you really don't know author of the Twilight Saga (in case you really don't know what that is there are a few movies based on that saga about an awkward girl who occasionally wears head-bands and a majorly pale guy with red lips who might possibly be a vampire and they fall in love) now with all that out of the way onto The Host.
So this book I loved much better than the Twilight books. It is about a girl, her brother, and the guy she loves on the run after an alien takeover and the Soul Wanderer. Yes aliens, it rocks! Well any who the girl gets caught and then everything goes kinda Invasion of the Body Snatchers and a Soul (that's what the aliens are called) gets inserted in the back of her skull, and then the Soul Wanderer takes over, however Melanie (the girl) will not quite go away (basically she is the voice in the back of her head) and she is very present. The story is told from the point of view of Wanderer. After Melaine has forced enough of her memories on Wanderer of her brother and the guy she loves, she's conviced Wanderer to go after them........

Well they have made this into a movie and I am so happy and cannot wait until March 2013 to see it. The trailer is below....ENJOY!!

I'm International!!!

SO A BIG SHOUT OUT TO MY B-I-L (brother-in-law) FOR BEING ONE OF THREE OF MY OVERSEAS VIEWS...VERY COOL!!
I hope you are safe and well over there and our family wishes you all the best and to please come get Hol as soon as possible we like it better when she is your headache ( Just Kidding Hol sort of, maybe!!!)

SO its kind of hard to get on to kids when they do something bad but they are just too funny. Two cases and points.
So my sister lost the diamond out of her ring (it's okay she got upgraded) and she was on the phone talking to her claims. The rep is talking in her ear when BW ( my nephew) comes running in.

BW: MOMMY!! MOMMY!! PAPA (wayne) IS A ASS..

HOL: UH BW..

REP: OH KIDS THEY SAY THE DARNEDEST THINGS.....

SO one day Wayne had a very upset stomach and was stinking up the house. My mom and I were in the kitchen cooking dinner. KC (my niece) walks in...

KC: Oh MAN MIMI PAPA IS SH*TTING IN THERE

ME AND MOM: WHAT?? (LAUGHING, LAUGHING)

KC: SHRUGS

Now I know its not good to laugh at kids when they say curse words but really you get so caught off guard thats really all you can do, but beware in the future you might have a potty mouth kid on your hands (but its okay thats their momma problem...)

Cameras point and shoot, Ask me what's my best side, I stand back and point at you.....

Citizen Cope

You know it really figures that the only Justin Bieber song I like it isn't even him that I like about the song. So thank you Big Sean (I think that's who it is) for having the best lyrics in the entire song!!
Now the song that I really like right now is Son's Gonna Rise by Citizen Cope. It's an oldie for me but I really am loving it!

On to other things I know I usually give Wayne a hard time (by the way he has shaved off all his hair, Hol and I about died laughing, laughing, laughing) but this time I'm going to talk about Alaska...

So the other day was Halloween at the workplace and we were talking prior to this about our Halloween costumes.

HOL: I THINK I'LL GO AS SARAH PALIN. (SPEAKING IN ACCENT) I CAN SEE RUSSIA FROM MY HOUSE..

MOM AND ME: WE DIE LAUGHING

ME: (SPEAKING IN CANADIAN ACCENT) MAYBE I SHOULD BE SARAH PALIN I CAN DO A PRETTY GOOD VOICE....

HOL: SMILING..

ME: OH WAIT THAT IS A CANADIAN ACCENT, SHE IS FROM ALASKA WELL THEY ARE RIGHT BESIDE EACH OTHER..

MOM AND HOL: GIVING EACH OTHER STRANGE LOOKS.

MOM: UH, NO IT'S NOT. ALASKA IS OFF IN THE OCEAN BY ITSELF, YOU HAVE TO FLY TO GET THERE...

ME: UM, YA'LL NEED TO PULL UP A MAP IMMA BOUT TO PROVE YOU TWO WRONG.

HOL: (PULLS UP PICTURE ON HER CELL PHONE) OH JESS I GUESS MOMS RIGHT IT IS OFF IN THE OCEAN BY TEXAS..

ME: OMG... LET ME PULL UP A MAP THAT IS NOT RIGHT.

ME: (PULLS MAP UP ON KINDLE) HA ha HA IN YOUR FACE I'M RIGHT ALASKA IS BY CANADA WHAT NOW??

HOL AND MOM: STARES AT MY KINDLE...

MOM: NO IT'S NOT DUMB ASS.

ME: SHOCKED COMPLETELY...WHAT YES IT IS ALASKA IS BY YUKON AND YUKON IS BY CANADA. I AM NO DUMB ASS I KNOW MY GEOGRAPHY....

SO NEVERMIND THAT YUKON IS ACTUALLY A PART OF CANADA DOES NOT MATTER I WAS STILL MORE RIGHT... SO LATER WHEN DRIVING BACK TO WORK WE ARE IN THE CAR AND I'M STILL PRETTY UPSET ABOUT BEING CALLED DUMB ASS. I TURN TO MY MOTHER

ME: YOU KNOW I'M KINDA UPSET ABOUT BEING CALLED DUMB ASS WHEN I WAS ACTUALLY RIGHT.

MOM: I KNOW HONEY, I'M SORRY. I THOUGHT I WAS TALKING TO WAYNE....

WELL I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT THAT MOM AND I ARE A OKAY AND NOW MOM AND HOL BOTH KNOW WHERE ALASKA IS, GUESS I'VE DONE MY JOB!!!

Eleanor & Park

Eleanor & Park

Rainbow Rowell
St. Martin's Press
St. Martin's Griffin

Pub Date

So when I started reading this book I did not expect to love it as much as I did. Eleanor and Park couldn't be more different and the same all at one time. So story begins boy meets girl, boy is mean to girl, girl can't stand the idiot boy, and then suddenly everything starts to change. They go through many ups and downs. This book made me laugh, but also cry a great equation to equal an awesome book, plus the year is 1986 and the music (which there is a lot of talk about music and even comic books. GO Eleanor with amazing views on the older comic book women YOU ROCK!!) was awesome. All in all please read this book. I will say the only negative I can give is this book should be read by older ya due to the content and language (now there is not anything overly explict and or graphic) which almost turned me away from reading this, but thank goodness I finished reading it!!

Holy Moley, Me-oh-My....BLOG, I miss you!! An apology to my blog!

So it's been a little bit since I've posted anything. Guess my life got kinda boring there for a cool minute. Sorry blog that I neglected you! But I have not had much to write. Wayne has been acting right for a change (maybe he is carrying around a dictionary) and speaking proper too. WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO! The kids additionally have been on good behavior (minus that curse word Kasey said last night) School is paying off. Also my shows came back on and I refuse to DVR. Refuse I tell you, REFUSE! Also the books I've read lately got me into a downer (Promised by Caragh O'Brien Oh the potiental this author had in this series was amazing she threw the last book away)!!! And the music well sad to say I've been playing reruns! So to sum it up I promise to do better blog!!

Cat's Meow!!

So yesterday at lunchtime I became the proud owner of my very own kitten cat. She is the sweetest thing ever, poor kitty might have been seperated from her mommy to soon so I am having to feed her with a medicine dropper, but she is so freaking cute I could care less, she actually wags her tail. So please meet Annie Cresta my new cat.....

Then as it was, then again it will be .......

Do you ever hear a song and immediately it connects you to a place, a memory, even a person? I cannot even begin to say how much of an impact music has had on my life. When I started this post I was going to say I feel like I should have been born in a different time being as my love for older music, classic rock, 80's pop, 90's (rock, grunge, pop, alternative) all speak to my music loving soul. I can't say how many times I have set my Zune on a playlist for 90's music, there's nothing like the angry voice of Alanis Morissette that makes me want punch someones boyfriend in the face and say "You Ought to Know", nothing like wanting to thank my brother (thank you BROTHER) for liking Nirvana (even if some of it kinda scared me, You know what I'm talking about and if ya don't brother call me laters and I can explain!), nothing that can immediately make me want to crank the volume of my Zune like Lovefool, a total silly song and little sad if a think about it but gotta love the beat. And the 80's what an awesome time for big hair bands (Bon Jovi which surprisingly enough is a thank you to Wayne, POP (Madonna looking at you), and amazing power ballads (Total Elipse of the Heart, don't care if it's cheesy, just don't care). Also I just have to mention I owe a big thank you to my mom for the Eagles, whom without you making me sing their songs on Karaoke I would not realize how much I love them (even if we scarred Hol with Witchy Woman), also I have mad love for Led Zeppelin (even if I can't appreciate it as much as you bubs) Ten Years Gone is just amazing (see post title). But even with all that love if I had not been born 90s I may not have gotten the chance to appreciate the music of now because I know at the end of the day I'm an indie kid at heart (yes A-ry-a I picked up this term from you), also I am very much partial to alternative to any music genre, and lately bit of folk, and alt country. So here's a playlist for you I hope you enjoy it....

--WAYNEISM-- ORDERING AT THE DRIVE THRU

So sometimes when we let Wayne out in public we will go to dinner and stop afterwards for a treat of some sort (mostly ice cream, I love the ice cream!!) Well he is the driver so we will let him do the ordering through the drive thru it's really unfortunate......

WAYNE: WHAT Y'ALL FROM THE BRAUMS.

HOL: LARGE CHOCOLATE SHAKE.

MOM: OH, NOTHING (I HATE FOOD)

ME: I WANT THE FROZEN YOGURT IN A CUP. MAKE IT THE TWIST.

DRIVE THRU PERSON: I CAN TAKE YOUR ORDER, WHEN READY.

WAYNE: YEAH I NEED TO GET A SMALL VANILLA SHAKE, AND ONE OF THOSE THEM THERE FROZEN CUSTARD SWIRLS.

ME AND HOL: (GIVING EACH OTHER A WHAT THE HECK LOOK)

DRIVE THRU PERSON: I'M SORRY SIR, WHAT WAS THAT...

WAYNE: OH YOU KNOW A FROZEN TWISTED CUSTARD....

DRIVER THRU PERSON: UM SIR.....

ME AND HOL: DAD, FROZEN YOGURT. TWIST.

WAYNE: OH WELL YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN YOGURT.

DRIVE THRU PERSON: OKAY VANILLA OR CHOCOLATE SIR.

WAYNE: UH SWIRLED, I MEAN TWIST.

DRIVE THRU PERSON: YOU'RE TOTAL IS $5.83 AT THE WINDOW, PLEASE PULL AHEAD. THANK YOU

WAYNE: (UNDER HIS BREATH) DAMN, FROZEN TWISTED SWIRLED YOGURT!

Cappuccino + Coffee = CRAP?

So a couple of years ago my mom and I were going through our same routine in the morning to get to work. We stopped at a local gas station so she could get her a cup of coffee and there was a new lady behind the counter so I go up to pay once we got all our stuff.

GAS STATION LADY: WHAT DID YOU GET CAPPUCCINO OR COFFEE?

MOM:  I KIND OF GOT A LITTLE COMBINATION HERE. A LITTLE COFFEE AND CAPPUCCINO. I GOT A CRAPACOFFEE.

Now this lady had very expressive eyes and kind of a deadpan face, so needless to say she got a little offend

GAS STATION LADY: (DEADPAN FACE) OKAY.

So Mom is all happy and smiles as we leave and wishes the lady a good day not even realizing  what just happened. So then we get in our truck.

ME: OMG MOM WHY DID YOU SAY THAT ABOUT THE COFFEE?
MOM: SAY WHAT?

ME: YOU CALLED HER COFFEE CRAP.

MOM: WHAT?@! NO I DID NOT.

ME: YOU SO DID. YOU CALLED IT CRAPACOFFEE.

ME: (FACE KIND OF PALES) WHOOPS.

Well this story has a happy ending because it turns out the gas station lady is very nice and my mother after giving a pretty nice apology now gets free coffee!!

The more you know......

Dancing with the Stars or Watching with the Rednecks??

So tonight was the premier of Dancing with the Stars All Stars on ABC. My family and I love to gather in the living room and watch the show. Who knew tonight would provide us with a treasure chest of riches. First thing first is poor Shawn Johnson (20 years old) who had to retire from the Olympics
HOL: WELL YOU KNOW THEY RETIRE AT AGE LIKE 25...

WAYNE: THAT'S NOT TRUE, THERE WAS A WOMAN WHO WAS IN HER THIRTIES THIS YEAR.

ME, MOM, HOL: (ALL LAUGHING)

MOM: SHE DID OKAY.

HOL: SHE FELL DOWN ALL THE TIME.

MOM: I COULD WALK ACROSS THE FLOOR AND FALL DOWN.

ME: YES THEY DON'T COMPETE PAST 30 BECAUSE OF THEIR BRITTLE BONES

MOM: WHAT? DID YOU SAY PARENTAL TOES??

ME: (LOOKS AT MOM STRANGELY) BRITTLE BONES MOM.

EVERYONE: (LAUGHING)
Well then the very bored Pamela Anderson takes the stage to dance. Never mind that she always talks and looks like she is out of her mind let alone they are letting her dance.
HOL: SHE JUST LOOKS STRANGE.

MOM: HER DANCE MAKES ME A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE.

WAYNE: YEAH SHE REALLY MESSED UP WHEN SHE DID HER BOOBS.

ME: YES DAD OF ALL THINGS WRONG HERE HER BOOBS ARE WHAT WE ARE REFERRING TO.

HOL: YES THAT'S IT AND HER PARENTAL TOES.

ME: (LAUGHING) WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?

HOL: I DON'T KNOW ASK YOUR MOTHER......

Mac & Cheese = Vegetable?

So last night my mother and I (well mostly my mother) were cooking dinner. She planned on making Steak with some Paula Dean seasoning (which was amazing), Broccoli and cheese Quiche, mashed taters, rolls. and Mac and cheese. So we get everything started for the quiche, get the potatoes peeled and ready to be boiled and she starts making the steak. Then she starts to freak out because the Mac and Cheese was not started conversation goes as followed:

MOM: OH, I HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED THE MAC & CHEESE!!

ME: IT'S OKAY MOM. WE HAVE PLENTY, THERE'S STEAK, MASHED POTATOES, AND QUICHE, AND WE ALSO HAVE ROLLS...

MOM: YEAH, YEAH I KNOW I JUST FEEL LIKE WE NEED A VEGETABLE?

ME: (GIVING MY MOTHER A VERY QUIZZICAL LOOK) MOM I DON'T THINK MAC & CHEESE IS A VEGETABLE.

--Dash & Lily's Book of Dares--

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares
Authors: Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
Published by: Harlequin UK Ltd
Publish Date: October 5, 2012
Released USA: October 26, 2010
“I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

This is how the story begins when Dash enters the Strand a few days before Christmas and locates a red notebook with instructions as to where the next clue lies, left there with the okay from Lily a strange but quirky girl looking for a little bit of excitement through the Christmas holidays.
I really. really liked this book. I thought both authors did an amazing job writing these characters, bring each to life with their own unique style. Your heart will definitely go out to Dash and Lily as they go on a weeks long adventure leaving behind clues and getting to know each other through a red moleskin notebook that they leave at various locations around New York, with the only question being will they live up to the others expectations if they were to meet in person. If you are looking for a light fun read then you should go for this book. The only issues that I had with this book was I don't know many 16 year olds with their expressive vocabulary but I also think that's kind of one of the points of this book, they are so unique to their own persons. I am glad that I took a chance on this book!

Heartburn. My Heart BuRnS

So I few years back Emo, her mom and dad and Me and my mom got tickets to see the Avett Brothers at the Coca Cola ballroom. We were so freaking excited to see the show, but had to go to work the next morning which kind of sucked but we did not care we were finally able to see THE AVETT BROTHERS live!!!  Well they were touring with Grace Potter and the Nocturnals who I thought were okay. I did like her new album (who does not like "Oh la la (Paris)") and really loved her song Apologies, which is probably my favorite by her. Well we had to stand outside in a line, which was okay, but we got there super early in hopes of getting closer to the stage to see the Avett Brother action. Well unfortunately I got the bad case of heartburn and really needed to set down, Grace Potter and her band came on and the played for what seemed like hours, the whole thing was made so much more fun by a very large loud young man yelling "Preach, and Amen sing it sister," every time Grace Potter would belt out and she does have a very large set of pipes. My heart was on fire so we pushed our way out of the crowd and my mother being the best trooper came with me. We went to the back of the ballroom but to many people occupied the space so went back towards the front and sat by the side of the room. I did start to feel better and Ms. Potter kept wailing in the background, but everytime I tried to stand up the pain would start again eventually it was around 9:30pm  the Avett's still had not gone on to play and I was ready to give up. My mom and I left before we got to see them and text Emo and her fam to let them know we were out of there. My disappointment in not seeing the Avett Brothers was tangible and after we finally got to the car and sat down I did start to feel better. We stopped and got ice cream on our way home! All in all I still have not gotten to see the Avett Brothers but I do love their music still and hope to rectify the situation sometime in the future.
So this leads my to my song for today: The Divide by Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, turns out I really like this album, check it out by clicking the picture of her album on the sidebar to the right under my picture.

........THE HALLOWED ONES.........

The Hallowed Ones
Author: Laura Bickle
Published By: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
Publication Date: September 25, 2012
The Hallowed Ones by Laura Bickle follows the story of Katie, a young Amish girl on the verge of Rumspringa, which is the time in the Amish community where the young get to go out into the "English" world to experience life on the outside of their culture. Unfortunately before she gets the chance to set out, things on the outside world take a turn for the worst, starting with a helicopter crash that gives the readers a first glimpse of the creatures terrorizing the "English" world. Eventually the Amish Elders rule that no one may leave the community grounds and no one may come in.
I will say that I tried very hard to keep reading this book, I don't like giving up, but I just could not finish this one. I'm not sure what exactly turned me away, the author does a wonderful job of describing Amish lifestyle for anyone who does not know much about them. Also I really liked Katie, she was a very like able heroine from her love of comic books, Wonder Woman, soda pop, also she had just the right touch of rebellion, but for some reason the mystery that was surrounding this book just could not keep my interest. I felt maybe it took too long to reach the action. Now while this book was not for me that does not mean other readers will not enjoy it. This book comes out September 25th. If you like a bit of mystery and vampire like creatures, then this one is for you!!

Random but I paused the TV and its all I notice..........

So tonight I am watching the Voice which is really good this season if you did not watch last night you missed a really good contender, one word: TOXIC. Anyway Cee-Lo Green is a coach on this show and if you don't know Cee-lo then Forget You. No I'm not being mean it's the name of his song. He almost is never on this show without his sunglasses and it kind of a shock when he has them off. Now I love Cee-Lo he has an amazing voice and personality at least what I see on TV, but when those sunglasses come of he kind of looks like the Predator, that weird alien looking thing from the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. I'm just saying......

GOOGLE: Broken Chairs....

So last night my sister, her husband, and I are watching that new show Revolution. Which was okay I did record it so I'll probably finish watching it later, but tonight is so devoted to Face-Off on Sci Fi I really love this show, anything that displays some sort of creativity whether it be fashion, makeup or modeling (looking at you ANTM don't even get me started on my go to show sorry Bri I know how you feel about Roseanne). Any who, let me bring this back around to what I was originally blogging about. Revolution went to commercial and one of those Google Chrome ones came on. It was the one where the daughter went to college and left behind her dad, well it made me tear just a little but the song in the background was really cool, really mellow which I love to be honest I thought it was Coldplay (I LOVE YOU COLDPLAY!!!) at last it was not, but the song was sweet nevertheless. So please go listen to Broken Chair by Chris & Thomas on their Land of Sea album. I have not listened to all of this album but I really love the vibe. The link is below.....

*****Parental Advisory*****

So I go to work with a colorful to say the least awesome group of ladies. (Looking at you PD, CC). Well sometimes in my department frustration runs at a high when you cannot locate something or even have a problem posting something....

T: I can't find beep beeping beep explicative, explicative. I guess bleep beep beep $$$$....

ME: Jeez T you should come with a parental advisory.

T: (Laughing) It's so true.

We both laugh continuously until finally getting a little control and go back to posting and not a minute later I hear her going again.

T: Can't believe bleep beep beeping bleep random explicative and bleeping beep.

Sometimes I'm not sure she makes complete sentences, but we love her and the day would definitely go much slower without her.

YOU'RE WELCOME!

Kasey-Ums: In the Eye of the Beholder

So my niece loves her barbie's. More importantly she loves talking to them. So one day we are driving down to the lake for my grandparents anniversary party (50 years!!!!). Kasey just got her new Rapunzel barbie....

KASEY: Hi, Rapunzel...

She brushes her hair a little bit.

KASEY: You're so pretty because you have a face.

EVERYONE IN THE CAR: (DIES LAUGHING!!)

A Song for You...Um I don't think so!

So I did not post about a song yesterday. I had decided to listen to Coexist by the XX. Now I thought their first album was pretty good loving a few songs from the album, however listening to Coexist I could not help thinking that it was almost the exact same sound and almost every song kind of bored me. Needless to say I was saddened by their second album and hope they try to do something a little more different in the future. If you love the XX and love this album I think that's awesome this one just was not for me....

Now since I struck out on finding something that I absolutely loved, I decided to give my sister a shot, so here we go song recommendation for the day is....

One More Night by Maroon 5

Thank you Sister!!!

If you're having lip problems, I feel bad for you son. 99 problems and a lip aint one....

So this lip ring has been a bit of an ordeal. Don't get me wrong I love the thing, but I will be amazingly happy when the swelling goes down!! So today I'm in the bathroom trying to clean the piercing and I pushed down on the bar the jewel end so I can clean the disk and pushed the jewel down though my lip. I could not get the top to twist off so I ended up just pulling it through the backside of my lip. I was not sure what to do exactly because my lip had swelled around the jewel, so I could not pull the other one back in. I got to work and spoke to T and she said that I needed to put something back in so that way it did not close up. String, dental floss, and even paper clip was suggested, but T always being the prepared one dug around in her bag and found an open ended ear ring. She changed both spiked ends with balls and I went to the bathroom to try to get it. Well I was pierced with a 16 gage and unfortunately all she had was a 14 gage. I got in the bathroom and tried to put it in, but there was a lot of swelling, finally I got it to go through and my sister and I decided to got to Hot Topic and get new ones after work.....
So after we got through the Disney Store to get Bubba Buzz and Kasey a Jasmine barbie, we get to hot topic and I get my new bars, I got eight total and love them all. We got to the car and I cleaned my hands with a wet wipe and cleaned the bar with one too and tried my first bar to out it in. The first one was way to small and my swelled lip was practically laughing in my face thinking I could get that bar through, eventually I picked a blue one with a longer bar and it went in perfect, it might look like a blue zit, but I'll take it. Lip diaster adverted!!!

Kasey-Ums: Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your long hair...

So my niece, who just recently turned four, has definitely got an opinion and is not afraid of expressing it to her MiMi. So one night they are watching Tangled Kasey's favorite movie, however Mimi has some problems saying Rapunzel's name....

MIMI: Kasey, you ready to watch Punchanella?

KASEY: Yes, mimi.

MIMI: Look, Kasey! It's Punchanella.

KASEY: It's Rapunzel, you idiot.

MIMI: What did you say?

KASEY: (SHRUGS)

I, Robot.....No I Not

So I woke up this morning and decided to take a look at my blog. To my complete surprise after I logged on it was nowhere to be found. I went to my home blogger page and it said I was the author of "0" blogs. Now for anyone who does not know I am very attached to my blog, I love it like my dog loves Ensure, like my sister loves tanning, like my mother loves ignoring Wayne's Wayneisms. A small wave of panic went through me. So I went to my gmail account and found a very interesting email. Apparently Google thinks I'm  a robot. The link I posted under I am not a robot (ironic) cheerleader, Sia for The Hallowed Ones as just the plain URL was flagged for my blog being possibly spam so my blog was on lock down. So if you see any warning messages know that the issue is being fixed and that Google is going to unlock the blog (hopefully) in two days as it is obvious I am not a robot... :)

Wayneism --Spelling Test: PULLED--

Sometimes if Wayne is still in the city we will make him bring home dinner. The following is a series of text messages, thank you mom....

MOM: HEY WHERE U AT? WANT TO PICK UP DINNER....

WAYNE: AT HOME JUST POOLED INTO THE DRIVE.

MOM:  WHEN DID WE GET A POOL?

Orpheus my heart is yours, always was and will be....

So I love the folk opera Hadestown. If you have not listened to it, please go do so immediately (fans of Bon Iver should really appreciate the album). So I decided today I would try some more Anais Mitchell and discovered her new album Young Man in America. I truly like this album. Now I will say that not every song was a knockout but there were several standouts for me. I just love her voice, she has such an interesting quality to her voice, it's so weird and wonderful. I also loved way the music flowed and the instruments used (BANJO!)....

Most recommended:
Coming Down
Ships
Wilderland
You Are Forgiven

Also recommened is Hobo's Lullabye by Anais Mitchell
on her ablum The Brightness. (Additional song The Changer).
This is a beautiful song.
(A little confusion on this album Hobos Lullabye maybe switched with
Sante Fe, but Santa Fe Dreamer is the song I love)

I hope you enjoy! Please comment if you do or don't like it.

Wayneism ---Deployed---

So my sister's husband is an active member of our military! One night a friend of mine (Hello KitKat) and my parents went to dinner, somehow we got on the subject of my sister and her husband who would be going oversea's.

Wayne: So yeah, Hol is going to come live with us soon because her husband's getting deported.

Kat: Deported?

ME: You mean deployed right dad, we didn't realize he was an illegal alien.

Wayne: Yeah, yeah deployed. You knew what I meant.

Adventures in Facial Piercings

So since I have shaved most my hair off I have gotten some strange stares, told I now looked way to cool to work at my current job (GO AUTO INSURANCE!), or told I was having a wild streak.
Well I have decided to go with wild streak, so keeping with that theme I was told that I now need to get a piercing or more tattoos ( I have one tattoo on my back of my sisters name with her favorite flower). Today I decided to go get my Marilyn Monroe.
One of my co-workers (shout out to T) went with me to get it done, we picked the place to get the piercing and after work drove up there. The piercer gave me my paperwork, which I signed with very shaky hands I could barely read my own name. All too soon he called me back to the piercing chair of doom. I got sterilized, my lip marked, then got my lip locked into place so the skin would not move. My nerves shot through the roof. Then the needle went through and it felt like someone ripped my face off, but as soon as it began it was done. He gave me a mirror to see and I had my Marilyn.
Pictures below. Please excuse my face I was in minor pain, although to my shock I did not cry what what!!

Finally my song recommendation for the day comes from an 80's alt station (thank you T and pandora). Check out "The Promise" by When In Rome. GOTTA LOVE THE 80'S

I Am Not A Robot Cheerleader, Sia

So I kind of have an intense love for Florence + the Machine. Florence Welch and her red hair are my hero (just kidding MOM you first always), but I was looking for something new to listen to. Apparently there is a huge likeness between Marina and the Diamonds. Now I will say that her album The Family Jewels is not my cup of tea, also sometimes I did feel that some of the lyrics were strange, but everyone has an opinion and while I personally did not find any resemblance between her and Flo, I did find my one new song today "I Am Not A Robot". The song has a pop feeling to it definitely and she rocks when she goes into falseto. Also my notable mentions that I just want to throw out there because today's post feels kind of poppy:
"Cheerleader" by St. Vincent on her Strange Mercy album (also I did really enjoy the vibe of this ablum so it is so worth the listen).
"Pageant of the Bizarre" by Zero 7 (sung by Sia) on The Garden album, this is probably my favorite Sia song, the end is so perfection. (Also on this album you will find Jose Gonzalez whom I adore and some very interesting songs, so please listen)

On another note soon to come is a review for The Hallowed Ones by Laura Bickle. If you have not heard of the YA post-apocalypic novel. Please follow the link to Goodreads to read the blurb. The Hallowed Ones Goodreads

Daily recommendations round up:

Marina and the Diamonds-- I Am Not A Robot
St. Vincent--Cheerleader
Zero 7--Pageant of the Bizarre

******Better to be hated than loved, loved, love for what you're not. You're vulnerable, you're vulnerable, you are not a robot cause I don't wanna be a cheerleader no more in the pageant of the bizarre
and tonight I give you my heart take a chance on me, yeah******

Wayneisms

Now, I don't know if you're like me and have a father who is verbally challanged, but I would like to introduce you to what I'd like to refer to as WAYNEISMS. Now since I may be inclined to post these little nuggets of gold from time to time I am going to give you a classic example......

Wayne: That trailer for that Sandra Bullock movie is on..
Me:  Okay, dad..
Wayne: See she can see into the future, she's having one of those prepositions.
Me: (Giving dad a what the heck look) You mean a premonition right or is she about to do some English?
Wayne: Oh you know what I meant.

 Definition:

Wayneism: wayne-is-ms :When one mistakes one word for another or uses wrong word in place of another. Can also refer to saying nonexisting words, or inaccurate phrases. Conversation usually ends in "Oh you know what I meant."

****UPDATE****

You might also be prone to using wayneisms when you look like this:

PS: this is the cure for double vision--find your grandsons toy eye patch and and place gently over your left eye.

***disclaimer: this is only a temporary cure, if you are truly having double vision please seek medical attention otherwise people might think your brain had a wayneism***

My First Real Offical Post Offically: SHAVED HEADS AND FOLK MUSIC...

Me: So mom hated that picture of the haircut I liked.

Sister: Which one was that?

Me: Oh, the one with the head shaved.

Sister: I can shave it if you want.

Me: Mom would be so mad, if I shaved my head.

Sister: Yeah, she would.

Me: Lets DO IT!!!

So on a complete whim last night, my sister and I decided it would be pretty rocktacular if I shaved the sides of my head. I don't know if I really set out to have my head shaved, but she thought I would definitely back out. I knew she was waiting for me to decline the offer, so it was a total surprise when I agreed. I went inside asked my mom if my sister evened it off correctly. My mother of course asked why, to which I replied "Oh I'm just getting my head shaved."
She was completely peeved (though she did not admit to it) and told me it was my hair I could do what I want. To be honest I was kind of hoping she'd help me back out. NOPE.
So I asked if if she wanted to come outside to watch.

MOM: TO WATCH THE SHOW, SURE WHY NOT.

ME: WANT TO FILM IT.

MOM: OKAY!!

So after about twenty minutes, I had a shaved head. I was completey happy with it and then realized I would have to go to work on monday with a shaved head.

ME: What am I gonna tell them at work, when I come in with a shaved head?

SISTER: (SHE SHRUGS) Oh, tell em you lost a bet.

ME: (Contemplates) YEAH, OKAY

About that time our friend pulls up our drive and needed our help getting her baby out of the car.

KAT: What the hell happened to your head?

ME: LOST A BET.

So onto the folk music:
I have decided to deciate a portion of this blog to music appreciation. I am going to listen to at least one new song a day (whether it be some genre of music or artist I love or hate) and at least one new book a week (PS: I love to read) and will leave my opinion on the matter here.........

" So I see it seems we've settled down
Quite a bit from the energy we once had
Oh, believe me we've settled down
Way down, way down, way down.

And all we are is burning stars
Shining brightly making sure you dont float too far
I'll keep an eye on you if you keep one on me
And then what happens we'll see
And then what happens we'll see"
---Mimicking Birds "Burning Stars"

A friend introduced me to Mimicking Birds a few months back and I only had the courage to download one song from the album. I did not realize what I was missing until today when I downloaded the entire album. They are one of the very best in indie folk I have listened to lately. The lyrics are truly amazing, and the sound beyond beautiful.
Recommended Tracks: Burning Stars. The Loop. Two amoung many...............
