Welcome Back to Oklahoma~~ American Idol Part 2

So my day got kind of long after we made it into the arena (mostly due to the fact that A-ry-a and I got separated when we got into the arena because we were in different sections) after mostly everyone got into their seats. the producers came back in and Ryan Seacrest was back and he pumped up the crowd, then the producers asked us along to sing the state song (they had to play it for us first because we could not get the tune, they tried it outside and inside the arena). After that they told us they would set up 12 tables and in groups of 4 we would we would go to one of the tables and audition in front of 2 judges at the table. This is so nerve wrecking and intimidating, but also a little calming because we are all in the same boat.
Well after they let the first round of groups down to the floor everyone else was pretty much allowed to do whatever until it was your sections turn. So A-ry-a and I met out in the halls. You could walk around the outside the arena halls and get something to eat or drink and if you were lucky find a place to practice which we did do a lot of. So after a few hours of this it was finally A-ry-a turn to go down to get in line (I thought for sure if one of us was going to make it, it would be her--she does not let a lot of people hear her sing, but she is amazing!)
I was so nervous for her, she went to go to her table and after a few minutes I saw her walk out unfortunately no ticket in hand. It made me very heart sad that she did not get it. But after I watched her walk out, not maybe twenty minutes later it was my turn, we went down to the arena and we lined up in my group of 4. It was me, 1 guy, and two other girls. I was not as nervous as I thought I would be. The guy in our line had actually auditioned I think 2 times before and had made it through this round.
So we go up to our table. Table 8 I think and I was so glad I got to go last! The judges were a male producer and a British female producer.
So it's my turn to go and I get up there and sing some Florence and I'm smiling and dancing (mostly tapping my foot to keep rhythm) thinking while I'm singing pick me, you know ya wanna pick me.
I stopped myself, if I could do anything over again it would be that I stopped my self, instead of letting them stop me.
So I went back to my place in line and they deliberated for a cool minute. Finally they call all three of us girls forward and said sorry but we're just looking for something different this year. I picked up my purse and smiled to both judges and as I left the male judge told me I had a good voice. That made my day so much. I walked away from the table with a huge smile on my face.
As I made my way out of the building trying to find my way back to A-ry-a.
She finally found me on the outside and we made our way back to the car, no tickets to the next round.
But we went to Pinkitzel's and I got the best cherry almond cupcake in the WORLD!
Now I tried to over analyze the guy judge telling me a had a good voice by thinking oh he was just being nice, after giving the rejection, but he could have said anything else like thanks for coming out or he could have just said nothing at all. I chose to believe I was one person away from a yes. Would I try out again if they came to OK sure. I think anyone who feels they have the potential should try out just for the fact that it is an experience and it was really fun even though I did not make it this year doesn't mean that maybe one day I will.

So keep watching for the Oklahoma auditions (ya may just see me and A-ry-a cheering in the crowd!!)

OKLAHOMA IS OK.....American Idol

So my American Idol adventure started about two days before 7/20/2012. I went to Bricktown and got my green bracelet that says "hey you have a seat in the auditorium and you can audition" or that may have been what the ticket said, whatever. So Wayne drove us to Bricktown and we got my bracelet, ticket, and a very pretentious information sheet you had to fill out and hand to the producer when you try out (one of the questions on there was are you related to or know anyone who is famous, should this matter), so at this time the only people who knew I was trying out was- Mom, Dad, A-ry-a, Brother, and a few people from work. I really didn't want a lot of people to know because:
A) That's a lot of pressure and
B) If you don't make it then you probably aren't that great.
So I stayed the night at my sister-in-laws and my brothers apartment because we rode together. A-ry-a and I stayed up til about 1am because we had to be back to the Energy Arena by like 6am or something. So we had to leave by like 4:30am to be there on time and I remember her saying something about the REM cycle and it would be easier to get up (yeah I slept through my alarm that morning)
Anyways we make it there a little before 6am and already there are thousands of people there standing in the streets that are blocked off in sections. We were standing about maybe 6 rows back from the cameras in the middle of the two joining streets next to the caution tape.
When the sun starts coming up a bit one of the producers comes out and tells us that we are going to do some crowd shouts coming in and out of commercial breaks. We had to do things like: sing our state song (which we were horrible at, when we got in the arena they had to play it for us so we could all catch the tune, whop whop wampum), we said things like Oklahoma is OK!!! Which A-ry-a killed me because we were burning up so she and I came up with other things Oklahoma was. For example:
Oklahoma is hot as Hell
Oklahoma is Alright ( I mean Oklahoma is ok we weren't aiming ourselves very high now were we)
But anywho next thing we knew they were telling us Ryan was going to come out. I don't know if you have every heard 10,000 people sigh at the same time it's pretty crazy. Crazy hilarious.
Well they bring him out and he does his whole "I'm Ryan Seacrest and I have tons of charisma " thing. He is kind of awesome. A-ry-a wants his haircut. I will admit he has good hair.
I will post pictures.

After he does his thing they send him away (sad face I know)
Then they tell us we are going to enter the Arena one section at a time. Now I'm on the phone with my mom at this point and I grab on to A-ry-a and tell her to just move we when they go. Well all of sudden caution tape is being snapped and producers are yelling at us with the megaphones and I'm left confused because I was not paying attention. Little secret A-ry-a totally snapped the caution tape. She said "Here let me take care of that" and just pinched that right in half.
Well I will say we were some of the very first to make it in the Arena.....

I will post more later....

Enjoy the show tonight!! I think they are starting with New York or something like that.........

~~Yes, he is Real~~ (American Idol Post Preview)

So over the summer in the sweltering heat (my shoes burned my feet because the sidewalk was so hot the heat came through the bottom) my fabulous sister-in-law and I went to try out for American Idol. I will have a full post tomorrow. Fingers crossed I get it posted before it comes on so here's a little teaser from our morning:

So I would like to apologize apparently seeing Ryan Seacrest turns me into a ValleyGirl. Who knew?

Questions, comments??

Okay so I've been told that it may be difficult to add comments to this blog (sad face). Now that was a very long time ago and I had no idea what to do with that because well I don't really know how to fix things like (who woulda thought you could look under settings, that's just crazy!) but sometimes feed back can be awesome. Well I have figured it out (YAY!) So I believe I have fixed the issue. So if you ever want to leave a comment but don't want to log in however it works then just hit anonymous and presto commento...

I know, I know, I've posted a lot today, but I'm not quite done yet....

I don't know if you know, but..... (something funny or strange)

I HATE BIRDS!
It's strange I would use them as a background (also I kind of want a bird tattoo) but they make interesting art sometimes.
Oh if you are wondering why I hate birds it's because I was attacked once by a talking parrot.
This is a true story. My aunt used to have a talking parrot and I was walking through the kitchen of her home with an open bag of chips ( this was when I was much younger) and he kind of went crazy swooping down on my head trying to get to those chips. Now I have a hard time with walmart parking lots. I get like a mini panic attack if they get too close.
(great now I've used strange in my post titles twice today)

KYLA LA GRANGE IS STRANGE BUT I LIKE HER!!!!

So a quick recommendation for a song this morning:

Courage by Kyla La Grange

She is different for sure, but I love this song. Also playing on my soundtrack this morning is Vicarious by Tool. (ha! Brother you got your Tool shout out)
Now I know Tool can seem a little dark (okay a lot dark) but every once in a while you find a song by them you can't help to love even if it is twisted, this song is one for me.
Plus this might be a little strange but this song played over and over in my Hunger Games phase. Which considering the lyrics it kind of fits the people in the Capitol watching these kids going off to kill each other in an arena and betting on it like their lives were just nothing and they thrived on it. But any who if you have not read that book. You just need to it's amazing!
Side note: A Perfect Circle (listen to them)

Take that Wii Board --Sad, but True--

So last night I am determined to play the Wii Fit. In my previous post I was to heavy to play because I exceeded the maximum weight. Now since I'm doing my weight loss thing, I am going to be very honest about this process I will try to leave nothing out. So that being said, I looked up ways that I could still use it. LOVE GOOGLE!
So the way to trick it is to fold a blanket and place it under the board and it will remove some of the weight off you. However it is not you're true weight but it will work to play the games for fitness. First time I tried this it said I was at 142 pounds. Hol and I had a good laugh at that but after we unfolded the blanket a bit, it got me closer to my true weight (I am omitting my true weight at this time since I'm not sure of it yet, so not it's not a lie just an omission two different things :)
Let me tell you after we got the blanket folding right, I was a Wii playing fool. I beat the advanced obstacle course, I have pretty good balance and I really like aerobics (Hula Hooping and I are not friends at this moment). Now playing the Wii is a good way to exercise at home. If people are wondering why not just go walking, well it's January and I'm cold and plus I can just run in place with the Wii Fit and it'll probably be just as effective.
Okay so song the song I am suggesting today (I really need to find a way to put them on here, but am having a hard time with it):
Let it Die by Feist
(I LOVE HER!)

Sorry about the No post....

So it's been a few days since I've posted, I have been sick (flu I'm sure), but I am feeling much better now!
So I plan on posting my about my New Year's Eve and also since I know it's coming up soon January 16th I think my date may be wrong, but American Idol starts and I happened to try out this summer. Now I did not make it (but I was told I had a good voice by a judge at my table!) But I have tons of pictures and news to share from that day (Ryan Seacrest was there! Now I know I went all fan girl, which is weird because I'm not like a super fan or anything but it was still pretty awesome), so that will be exciting.
One last thing my song of the day since I've not done that in a while:
Bad Karma by Ida Maria
(she is so freaking awesome, listen to her debut album, if you haven't heard of her!)

New Year, New Me

Hello People,
So it's 2013 and while I don't want to call this a resolution, because I know I won't follow through, but I have decided it's time to lose some weight. I got a really big wake up call yesterday when we were walking at the park in Jones (that was me, my mom, and Wayne- Side note: Wayne walking is freakin' hilarious)
Okay so we only did two laps and it was so hard for me to breathe, that's terrible yeah? I know.
So my mom wanted to play the Wii Fit, which we all really loved, but have not played in forever. That thing will definitely work ya. (I have video of mom and Wayne which I will so post later, they are awesome)
So everyone is doing their body test which tells you your Wii Fit age: (they are probably going to kill me later for posting this but oh well.)
Wayne: 52 (real age 44)
Mom: 36 (real age 47 how awesome is that!!)
Hol: 41 (real age 23)
So Hol was definitely the oldest.
Now I did play the Wii last night and would have loved to do the body test however apparently there is a maxium weight limit. Now if I wasn't sure I needed to lose weight before I am so sure now.
But let me tell you what we played that thing from 7pm to 9pm and I kicked butt. I am a hula hooping champ :), also I run a pretty mean obstacle course. So take that Wii Fit I may be a big girl but I can move too.
So I know a lot of this info is embarrassing but I hope (plan) to share a year in weight loss for a healthier me!!
I will so post those vids later, they were so funny!!

UPDATE: VIDEO AS PROMISED!!
